The largest of three similar magnetic chess sets. Each set has a transparent plastic lid with a beveled edge that slides onto the board. Green & White squares, full coordinates, piece storage space, and 4 extra blank pieces make this inexpensive travel set a great choice. The black and white magnetic pieces themselves are made to a thickness that makes them easy to grasp. Great for analysis, this set can be inverted with the pieces still in place.

The green takes getting used to and the lid is loose and flimsy but it's a great budget buy and fer better than many other 'flat disc' magnetic systems. Being flat means it's easy to put in a bag, and I find it very good for analysis.

i got one of these for personal use doing puzzles and like it alot.  unlike the folding types, i can set this thing in my lap while i'm on the sofa & the magnetic pieces stay put too.  it's sturdy enough altho it is plastic & the edges can be bent or the whole thing squashed etc
