Great chess and checkers set December 31, 2006

This chess set is excellent.  I bought it for my 11-yr old son for Christmas and was so pleased with the quality.  It is nice looking, the pieces each go in their own space inside the felt-lined, wood-separated drawer, and the board is beautiful.  The pieces are each very well crafted with no flaws.  They are smooth and carved with nice detail.  I especially like the way they are weighted and felt-lined on the bottom, so they are very satisfying to pick up and move around the board.  The checkers pieces are also nice and do stay together when stacked.  If you want a chess set that is solid, attractive, and self-contained, this is a good one.
