Each giant chess set is an amazing 25" tall. You'll just need a 64 square board to play on! Use either your own surface or the portable giant chess mats available.  We recommend the ChessHouse Nylon Chess Mat (see accessories). It's the easiest to setup and take down.

The pieces are molded good and strong and have inherent weight. If you want extra weight for especially windy places, just fill the pieces with sand or water.

Our recent purchase of your giant chess set is being enjoyed on an almost daily basis. I've attached two photos of the board in its new location which is in a lower portion of our backyard. The board was made with simple 12 x 12 pavers, set into sand and bordered by concrete curbing. We love it! I've mentioned it on several homeschooling Internet lists and have already had two families come over to see it. I let them know where to buy their pieces when the time comes! The Chess House, of course!
