All except for the intrepid chess player, who, bravely grasping one of his polar bear pawns, captures his opponent's panda bear pawn and gives a growl of 'checkmate'!

This chess set very interestingly dulls the lines between chess and nature with its very real endangered species brought to life through their images on the chess board. Any chess player will be delighted to use this Endangered Species chess set with it's wide variety of endangered mammals and other creatures. From the powerful gorilla and oranguatang kings, to the gentle looking, but fearsome tiger and leopard queens, to the many pandas and polar bears in the front ranks--this set emanates excitement and danger!

Each players' piece has a distinct color-coded base to help with ready identification of the pieces side.

This Endangered Species theme set is made of non-weighted, plastic resin, hand painted chessmen.
