Flowing lines and colorful dress characterize this Hungary and Ottoman theme chess set. From the majestic kings to their charming wives as queens, each piece flavors the sight with the distinctive colors and dress of these two great empires. Some pieces are so realistic that you can almost hear the neighing of horses and the clanging of swords!

The yellow and green coloring of the Magyars(a native of Hungary) and it's tasteful usage on dress and equipage is balanced nicely by the purple, red, and white of the Ottoman side. The Ottoman Sultan looks rather pompous in his flowing robes, and his stern stance--meditating on the welfare of his empire no doubt! The horsemen knights are very finely detailed and look as though they are alive! The rooks show some of the architecture the empires were known for. The Ottoman's building looks very similar to the Hagia Sophia, the Church of the Holy Wisdom, which became a mosque when invaders conquered Constantinople. The Hungarian rook shows a distinctive cone-roof on an important building from the era.

Overall, this set has the appearance on the surface of peace--neither side appears ready to begin the conflict too soon, although closer look reveals readiness in every feature. Who might win this unusual battle? Discover for yourself with this beautiful Hungarian and Ottoman empires themed set!
