About this product
The Battle of Waterloo--Napoleon Bonaparte--the Duke of Wellington. These three names symbolize one of the greatest battles of the Napoleonic Wars, and one of the greatest of all time. Now for your personal enjoyment at the chess board, this great battle is recreated in the form that chess players love! One of the most decisive battles of the Napoleonic Wars, Waterloo was fought in a small area (some 10km by 4km) on the main road leading south from Brussels.
It was also the first clash of the Titans - Napoleon Bonaparte versus the Duke of Wellington - and it was a win all/lose all scenario. The French Emperor's brilliant strategy had enabled him to face only the English force of Wellington's, and he joined the battle on the 18th of June, 1815. This, however, turned out to be his last battle, as, hampered by the wet ground from a recent storm, his army was unable to maneuver properly and ultimately all was lost. In this easier to use version of the Battle of Waterloo however, you are no longer hampered by the wet grounds.
This is your chance to prove history wrong, or to uphold the course of time 2 centuries later!
