Novag Citrine chess computer April 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Sam Vorhauer from , Traverse City Michigan   This chess machine is beutiful but the cable to the PC is outdated (nine pin serial) and no USB cable. The graphics from the PC are non-existent only letters and numbers. If you want graphics you will need to figure out how to download graphic software for it and buy a USB nine pine female compatible cable from Radio Shack. If the extra work is worth it for you then this is a good machine. Otherwise GrandMaster chess board is better. Was this review helpful to you?

Great Value for the price! December 11, 2007 Reviewer: Ted Summers from Marietta, GA United States   I can tell you this, The Chess House has the best price that I have seen for this system. The 2330 USCF rating that Novag Advertises for this model, well that is over stating it by quite a bit. It is more like 2140 USCF Expert. What really makes the Novag Citrine so special is that you can also connect the Citrine to your PC using the included serial cable. You can use this feature to record or print the moves of your games or more importantly... You can use your Novag Citrine in a similar fashion to the popular DGT Boards. Which means you can play against some of your computer chess engines such as Shredder, Hiarcs, Rybka, and other popular chess engines using the "Free" Arena Chess GUI. The current version that works with the Citrine is Arena 1.99 Beta 4.
