Seirawan did a great job in this video, covering everything from basic tactical motifs to strategic concepts based upon pawn structures. It is definitely worth the cost.

Since chess is a game that is several hundred years old, the fact that this dvd is 25+ years old does not detract from it. It does exactly what the cover ad states. After 1 viewing it will really improve your game. After several viewings it puts you in a different league. Easy to understand, clear and relevant, and the dvd is simple to navigate.

Since I am a player that is around class A the beginning half of the DVD was basic as well as some of the last half, but I did get some fine insights on how Seirawan views the pawns structures, and creating an overall game plan. Following his instruction was not a problem at all, but since the tape is a bit out of date (late 80's) I can understand that. Overall, there is always something to learn from this tape. And I speak to the audience below master level.
