Talk about a great first impression to get your feet wet and decide how deep you want to go! It's a lighthearted, fun, and peculiarly thorough intro to chess basics - seriously just 10 minutes!  I like the cartoonish feel, and yet it's not overdone. Love it. I will keep this book handy to introduce others to the game. -- Raphael

Learn how the pieces move and array of simple tips and tricks! It even explains the basics of writing down moves!  It does not explain "en passant".  That should give a sense of the depth.
