Unique Design: The box with felted base can be set in the middle of the chess board, enabling each player to set up their own color of chessmen. The box allows pieces with a King of up to 4" tall to stand inside while closed. It pairs perfectly with the matching JLP Chess Boards of all designs.
The box has a beautiful maple-framed walnut lid and front thumb pull, and a felted bottom to protect any surface it is placed on. You can also match it with solid walnut and maple chess boards, which are available separately, making it the perfect gift for special occasions like anniversaries or as a family heirloom to pass down to future generations.

I can't find this box anywhere else. It has a built in handle at the top, making carrying it a breeze. You could lift the box and not have the pieces tip. It has the piece sections divided in the middle of two parts, meaning that you can carry the without them being intermixed, and with their bottoms down and not touching -- there is room on each that side so the pieces won't touch, even on larger sets.
It can take Kings up to 4" in height. And the two lids open just a hair past 90 degrees, meaning the lid won't slam down between getting out the pieces and placing them within with box. This is the most well-thought of carrier of chess pieces anywhere.
Why carry your pieces in a box without handles? And is so easy to remove chess pieces and put them back in again. I find myself taking my pieces outside to home, to a friends house. That's something I never did before, but speaks volumes to how easy this box protects the pieces and how easy it is to carry. And you'll find it only at Chess House!
