960 Chess

Also known as Fischer Random Chess after its inventer Bobby Fischer and after the fact that the pieces on the back file are with few rules randomly scattered. The reason it is called 960 chess is because you are able to make exactly 960 differant starting positions on the board.
Bobby Fischer invented 960 chess because he believed chess was becoming a formula, in other words he believed the chess stratigy was being melted down to where whichever player had memorized the most games or chess theory would ultimately win any standerd chess match. His 960 chess completely demolishes all opening and middlegame theory! each starting position requires far more thought than the original chess and between the chess clock and the brain wracking this chess varient is super exciting! There is no pre-concieved ideas on how you should move that first piece, there is no security from the first move, most of the play is pure inspiration!
