Heavy Chess Set

This heavy chess set has a great, detailed Staunton design. There are a lot of heavy chess sets that sell for a lot less than this one that are cheaper quality yet have a higher price. The king in this heavy plastic chess set stands 3 7/8" tall! These heavy chess pieces are great for blitz chess, the heavy weights inserted into the bottom of the chess pieces keep the bottom of the chess set firmly planted on the board, not like those feather-light chess pieces that fall over if you breath near them.
A standard 20" chess board works great for these heavy chess pieces. This set of heavy chess pieces also comes with 2 extra queens. While playing chess in public I am often asked why I have 2 queens per side, they say "why do you need an extra queen when it isn't even on the board?" I politely inform them that if I advance a pawn to the last rank on the chess board I can upgrade it to a queen. So its really handy to have that extra queen. These heavy chess pieces have gained the rank of triple weighted chess set. Definitely a fine looking heavy chess set that would look good anywhere.
