Native American Theme Chess Set Pieces

These Native American Theme Chess Set Pieces depict the woodland Indians VS the plains Indians. The Kings for both sides are powerful tribal chiefs, and the queens are the chiefs wife. The Bishops in the Native American theme chess set are the tribal medicine men. I'm Guessing that this chess set represents pre-colonized America because neither tribe has horses for the knights. The Native American peoples had no horses until after America was Colonized, horses revolutionized the Indian.
The Rook for the plains Indians in this theme chess set is a tepee and for the woodland Indians is a wooden hutch. The pawns are the young men of the tribes known as braves, both sides of pawns are in their respective dress and also wearing war paint.

See for yourself the great detail of this Indian theme chess set.

Theme Chess Set, Celtic

The Celtic theme chess set pieces are designed after the old Celts. This theme chess set is det in about 1014 AD. The Celtic chess set is very accurate as to dress and weapons. The Celts were known for their large heavy weapnons, and their lightly clad, agile footman. The Celts were the masters of hit and run.
Playing the dark side of the theme chess set is the sea raiding Norseman, otherwise known as Vikings. The Vikings were most well know for raiding the shores of europe, most notably Ireland, France, England and Italy. These raiders were known as The Sea Wolves, no one knew where they would strike next. Great detail and the costumes and figures are historically accurate, this is a really stimulating theme battle chess set!

Gladiator Theme Chess Set

I would tend to think that this Gladiator theme chess set is a depiction of the Spartacus gladiator rebellion against Rome (others think differently). If you look closely you can see its Rome VS the Gladiators. all the heavy Roman infantry VS the lightly clad, agile gladiators. No other event in history that I can think of looks more like this scene.
But anyway, down to the description of the Gladiator chess set. All the Gladiators are lightly clad in cloth tunics, the pawns bearing sheilds. The Romans are heavily clad in armor, their pawns look like an impenetrable wall of steel, their bishops are Roman diplomats, the knights are astride of a rearing steed. The king is also heavily clad in armor, a sight not often seen in Roman theme chess sets.
Whatever your historical opinion may be, I would agree that this chess set is pretty good looking (if it wasn't I would not even write about it).

American Animal Chess Set

A stunning display of American wildlife. Displaying incredible workmanship; the American Animal theme chess set is marvelousqly detailed. Lifelike and depictive, the animal theme chess set is also practical, many theme chess sets leave you guessing as to which piece is which. When theme chess sets are like that they still look good, but make a game of chess rather difficult. But not the American Animal chess set. The base of each theme chess piece has a symbol on it that easily defines that piece's rank.
Down to individual hairs, these theme chess pieces are a pleasure just to look at. Take a look at the photo! They would truly be a joy to own!

Theme Chess Sets: General Review

The main purpose of owning a theme chess set is usually because the theme f the chess set connects personally to the owner. There are more kinds of theme chess sets available than one might imagine. There are several theme chess sets even of the same type. Lets take football theme chess sets for instance, you can usuallly any sports teams in theme chess sets. There are many, many different sports theme chess sets. What i'm really getting at is that theme chess sets aren't just for chess player's, although they are very fun to play chess with. Anyone that has a passion can find a theme chess set to suit their tastes, like I know several history buffs that really like the civil war theme chess set. Usually the Historic theme chess sets are accurate in dress and equipage. Detail is always a key feature in buying a theme chess set; since theme chess pieces are usually used for decorative purpose's. The more detailed and accurate the theme chess pieces, better it is.
Theme chess sets are very appealing, they add a touch of decorum to a room in a way that only chess can. And a theme chess set by the fireplace looks great! Theme chess pieces allow you to share your passion, whatever it is, with others.
They tend to create conversations on the topic of the theme chess set, the theme chess set is one of the greatest conversation pieces I have run across yet. Some theme chess sqets come with a chess box/board combo. And yet others have just the theme chess pieces, leaving you to purchase a chess board or box that suits you best. Or if you are more inclined to carpentry you could make your own chess board. I have written several articles on individual theme chess sets that I have had the pleasure to examine personally, all of the theme chess sets I have reviewed have been personally inspected by me. Thanks for reading!

Dragon Theme Chess Set

The Dragon Theme Chess Set is a fantastic mythical chess set. This Dragon theme chess set takes you back to the time of mages and dragons. Knights that fly on dragons backs and fairy tale castles are the silhouettes in the dragon theme chess set. Prepare to do battle with creatures of legend.
The pieces are very easy to distinguish for what they are. Some theme chess sets aren't all that easy to keep track of what each chess piece really is. No problems with the dragon theme chess set in that area. The extremely unique thing about this dragon theme chess set is that even though there is no real historic theme to this chess set, both sides of the theme chess pieces are designed unique. What I mean by that is, the knights on the blue side are designed completely different than that of the red side.

Just take a look at the picture, you will see what I mean, great detail don't you agree? The Dragon Theme Chess Set is an instant classic.

Cats and Dogs Theme Chess Set

This chess set has a great look and feel to it. The theme chess pieces are made of non-weighted synthetic resin. The designers of this cats and dogs theme chess set have gone extreme into detail with this theme chess set, a fantastic job indeed.

The Dogs:
The King on the Dogs side of the theme chess set is the Great Dane, the Great Dane is the biggest of the dog breeds. The great Dane is usually a large good tempered animal, just don't mess with the master! And in this case that would be the person using the dogs side of the theme chess set. The Queen of the dogs in the cats and dogs theme chess set is a pure white French Poodle. The Rooks are dog houses, the bishops are Saint Bernard's, the knights are Boxers and last but not least the pawns are aggressive looking German Sheppards.

The Cats:
I don't know much about cat breeds, so I will leave the identification of the cats to my readers, and I will Describe their attributes, fair enough? The king of the cats in the cats and dogs theme chess set is a stately looking tom cat of some sort. He sits poised, proud, with his crown on and very royal looking; like only a cat can. The Queen of the cat theme chess pieces looks to me like a persian cat. She to stands proudly, but with more grace than the king, like the king the queen also wears a crown. The bishops in the cat theme chess set are black cats... I do know what kind of cat the knights are, they are the sassy siamese cats, you can tell they are ready to bring the "cats rule and dogs drool" statement from Homeward Bound. Which by the way is a great movie for animal lovers and kids to watch. The rooks are raised cat beds. And the pawns are white kittens.

Take a look at the photo and see for yourself the detail put into these theme chess pieces. Also here is more statistical description of the Cats and Dogs Theme Chess Set.

Marble Cat Theme Chess Set

This marble cat theme chess set has great detail, and feels great. The marbelized cat theme chess pieces are one of a kind, the felines stand poised and ready for a dignified game of chess. Each theme chess piece in the marble cat theme chess set is distinctly marked, the king has a crown on his head and stands proudly with his head erect. The queen cat also holds a proud poise, but in a more gracefull way, both the king and the queen have goldden crowns on their heads, and the queen cat has a golden heart. If you are familiar with cats you will immediatly recognise the body language of the knight, the laid back ears of the knight chess piece gives the impression that the cat is in an aggressive pose. This aggressive pose that the knight has ensures that you will always be able to identify it as the knight every time. Besides the aggressive pose of the knight, there is also a licence on the knight kitty in the shape of a horse shoe. The bishop cat in this theme chess set is poised with arched back with a little golden bishop hat on his head. The Rook looks like a classic Staunton design, but with one differance. The gate entrance to the rook in this theme chess set, is actually a kitty door! And finally the pawn; the pawn in the cat theme chess set is, just like in regular Staunton style chess sets, is smaller than all the royal chess pieces behind them. The pawns are all little kittens with small golden caps.
Truely a good looking chess set, they are also fairly durable, with no super breakable protruding sculpting. You would not have a problem keeping this cat theme chess set nice looking, it would stay pretty much the same over time.

Take a look at the beautiful sculpting job on the Cat Theme Chess Set! It really is breathtaking, and it takes on extra meaning for cat lovers.

Russian Theme Chess Pieces

Fame Products have chosen well in picking the opposing sides of this theme chess set. It's Russian VS Mongol's theme chess pieces, the Russian and Mongolian empires were constantly at war, the Russians are known as steady soldiers capable of living in harsh conditions and long marches. The Mongols are well known for their cunning evil tactics, and their extremely light armed mobile troops.
The Russians are heavily armed, the pawns are swordsman wearing heavy chain mail armor, the knights in this theme chess set, on the Russian side are mounted on a mighty white steed that is rearing high into the air. The King represents a heavily armed Czar, the Czar's were powerful Russian rulers that are the equivalent of a king. The bishop on the Russian side is a statesman. The Russian queen is the Czar's wife. And the Rook is a beautiful piece of Russian architecture.

The Mongolian Forces had the run of almost every country in Europe and Asia. For a time the Mongols were the very terror of all Euorope and Asia. When the Russians and other country's tried to strike back, the Mongols just weren't there to hit. Fast moving and elusive the Mongols were fearsome enemies and had no respect of life. The king of the Mongols was a Kahn the most notable of the Kahns was Genghis Khan who united the Mongol tribes to sweep across Europe and Asia. The Queen in this theme chess set is the Khan's head wife. The Rook in this theme chess set is the royal tent, the Mongols are a nomadic people, having no permanent dwelling, making them extremely hard to counterstrike at. The Knight in this theme chess set is one of the fabled Mongol horse archers, these Mongol horse archers were most famous for their ability to shoot their bows while retreating. They would often charge infantry shooting their bows, then sharply turn and fire while they dashed back to safety. The bishop is a Mongolian ambassador. And the pawns are the sturdy, lightly armed Mongolian spearman.

A highly decorative chess set with beautiful colors and expert painting. A very detailed theme chess set indeed. Just take a look at the picture and you can see for yourself the care put into the design of these theme chess pieces. More info on the Russian VS Mongol Theme Chess Pieces

King Arthur Theme Chess Pieces

The King Arthur theme chess pieces are made by Studio Anne Carlton. Studio Anne Carlton specializes in designing theme chess sets, they have raised the level of standard expected from a theme chess set. Most people expect a theme chess set to be detailed and good looking. Studio Anne Carlton theme chess sets are all that, but so much more, they have made their theme chess sets far more durable than others. Their theme chess pieces are made solid from ground stone. this material is not just good looking and strong, but it even feels good to touch!
The King Arthur theme chess set is not an exception in the Studio Anne Carlton theme chess sets, they are designed with great detail, and great accuracy.
  • The King

The king is the fabled King Arthur of Camelot, he stands 5 1/2" tall holding his 2 handed sword Excalibur. A kingly figure indeed, the features really do justice to King Arthur.

  • The Queen

King Arthur's wife Guinevere.

  • The Rook

Depicts an Anglo Saxon castle, or keep. The Rook is short and blocky.

  • The Bishop

It's Merlin, the court magician, he stands in his robes very stately looking.

  • The Knight

Is a heavily armored knight on horseback, he has his visor down, and looks like he's going to charge into enemy lines. He very well could be Lancelot, King Arthur's most fearsome knight of the round table.

  • The Pawns

Bold and courageous yeomen in armor and steel helms, holding a body shield and drawn sword. They stand on the front lines ready for the advance of King Arthur's forces.

On the whole I think this is a very dressy theme chess set, with a classy, classic look. The antique finish that Studio Anne Carlton puts on the King Arthur theme chess pieces looks simply great. Just take a look at the photo!

Roman Theme Chess Pieces

These Roman Theme Chess Pieces are highly detailed. The way they make the Roman Theme Chess set is great, they have a classic antique finnish. The pawns in the Roman theme chess set are the heavily armored infantry that the Romans were so successful with, they stand with a shield and wielding a Roman short sword. The king depicts a Caesar wearing his toga, giving his proud caesar look. The queen is the Caesars wife. The Bishop is a standard bearer for a legion, he is probably a Tribune. The Knights are the Roman cavalry, the cavalry were the branch of the Roman military that all the nobles went into. The rook in the Roman theme chess set is a Roman pillar, an architectural fixture of the time period that usually held buildings up in the air
A Picture says a thousand words, and then some. Take a look at the Roman Theme Chess Pieces, they are a real work of art! The Roman theme chess pieces are mode of ground stone, they are solid clear through and very durable, definitely a quality theme chess set and very dressy.

Western Theme Chess Pieces

This wild west theme chess set is a classic! The pawns in this western theme chess set are saddle bags full of gold and silver bars. The kings are the sheriff's and the queens for the western theme chess set are the sheriffs wife. This bishops represent an old western reverend, they stand with an open bible in their outstretched hands, thundering fire and brimstone. The knights of the western theme chess pieces are tough, stage coach shotgunners, they stand wearing chaps, cowboy hat, gunbelt, and of course their double barreled, side by side shotguns. The rooks in the cowboy theme chess set are blocky western style hotels.
The chess box that stores the theme chess pieces is made of extremely high quality American Walnut. The chess box is very well put together, it has four legs that keep the chess box raised off the table. The chess box measures 21" x 21" and the cowboy theme chess set is a pretty large chess set. The king stands a whopping 7" high!

Just take a look at this picture! it really is a very detailed set of theme chess pieces!

Air Force VS Marines Theme Chess Set

The Air Force, "Excellence in All We Do" VS the Marines, Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful). There is a lot of pride involved in the branch of the service you once served in. Defending America is a privilege that servicemen and women covet with pride. This pride oftentimes drives the branches of America's military to outdo each other.
This military pride is depicted in this American Military theme chess set. It's the Air Force VS the Marines in this theme chess set. Be proud to choose your side while using this chess set, you will have to plan like a good general, while using this theme battle chess set. Position your forces to overcome your opponent and become America's most honored National Defense!

The Marine's side of the theme chess set uses Marine military figures. The Pawns in this Marines VS Air Force theme chess set, are the hardcore, men that make's the Marines the Elite Military close combat group of warriors they are today, they are the men that give their 101% in blood and guts to defend their country from all comers. The knights symbolize the modern cavalry, Tanks! The rook (tank) is positioned in such a way as to make it look like its ascending a steep grade to wipe out a bunker on a hill. The Bishops in this theme chess set, are Marine Chaplin's. A Chaplin's job often times takes more guts than one might think, a Chaplin has to go to the front lines of the battle, spreading encouragement and hope. The Rooks are the seal of the Marines mounted on a pillar, and indeed that is what it is to the Marines, a pillar to live up to. The King in this Military theme chess set is the General. And The Queen in this theme chess set is a Marine woman officer.
Death from above! The Air Force side of this theme chess set are immaculate! Which is depicts the Air Force exactly. The Pawns of the Air Force in this theme chess set are airmen in dress blues, standing at a stiff attention. This theme chess set would not be complete without a powerful weapon of destruction. The weapon they chose to represent The Knight is a InterContinental Ballistic Missile, the missile has an inscription of ICBM on the front of the missile/knight. The Bishop for the Air Force vs Marines theme chess set are the long arm of the Air Force, they are Air Force Pilots dressed for the cockpit. The Rooks for the Air Force side of the theme chess set are the seal of the Air Force set on a pillar, which is once again, a pillar for every one of the Air Force Personnel to live up to. The King for the Air Force themed chess set is a high ranking officer in the Air Force. And The Queen is a high ranked woman Air Force Official.

Egyptian Theme Chess Set

This Egyptian Theme Chess Set is a very detailed, historically accurate design. It's the Egyptians VS the Romans in this theme chess set. The costume design for both sides is extremely historically accurate the designers of this theme chess set really did a wonderful job making the pieces look accurate for the time period.
  • Egyptian King:

The Egyptian King symbolizes a Pharaoh of the time, the chess set description itself suggests it to be Akhenaton.

  • Roman King

The Roman King for this theme chess set symbolizes Julius Gaius Caesar, the first of a series of rulers known as the Caesar's.

The queens symbolize the wives of the kings. The rooks are designed after Egyptian and Roman Arcitecture. The Egyptian Bishops are scribes, important religious leaders, the Roman Bishop's are Centurion's, the Centurion was the only lifetime officer of the Roman army, they composed the very backbone of the Roman Army. The Egyptian Knights in this theme chess set, are patterned after the falcon god Horus, The Roman Knight for this theme chess set is a roman cavalry unit, the Roman cavalry were the most prominent part of the Roman army, all the men of noble family were in the cavalry. And last but not least come the pawns. The Egyptian pawns are little un-armored Egyptian spear warriors. The Roman Pawns symbolize the famed heavy roman infantry.

Overall I would say the Egyptian theme chess pieces are a very fine looking chess set and would look very good on a living room coffee table. Definitely a great conversation piece, and good for a casual game of chess.

  • Chess board not included.

Lord of the Rings Theme Chess Set

Battle for middle board! The Lord of the Rings theme chess set is a very popular chess set, and with good reason, almost everyone is familiar with Lord of the Rings the movie. Lord of the Rings was written by the J.R.R. Tolkien With this Lord of the Rings theme chess set you have the chance to command the dark forces of Mordor to rule the chessboard. And you can play with white, which has the fellowship of the ring characters, by your genius destroy the evil forces of Mordor. I guess I am making it more dramtic than it is. Anyway this theme chess set, like all Studio Anne Carlton chess sets has great detail to it.The characters were also wisely chosen to fulfill their role in this theme chess set, just have a look at the picture!

Fisherman Theme Chess Set

The fisherman theme chess set, this theme chess set is all about freshwater fisherman VS saltwater fisherman! I know some people have a preferance in fishing, me? I am happy fishing anywhere! Anyway this fisherman chess set is great! the detail of each individual piece shows amazing craftmanship. A largemouth bass is the king of the freshwater fish and a tarpon is the king of the salt water fish. Truly spectacular detailing, wooden chess game box it comes in is very high class as well. All the pieces fit nicely inside the box for protection and storage.
I really like the rooks, the saltwater rook is an ocean liner, cruising up a wave. And the freshwater rook is a lake/river fishing boat, it looks like its jetting full throttle upstream to get to that river bar! For river fishing I like a flat bottom jet sled best, but you see all kinds on the river... One time on a fishing trip to Canada, I saw a sadly underpowered, very old, Lund dinghy, (I couldn't call it anything else) trying to head upstream with 4 guys in it! It had a 12 horse motor with a prop on it, they wanted to go upstream because that was where the good fishing was. I was shaking my head in disbelief as they put-putted out of the backwater, into the current. They got into the middle of the current and gave it all they had! You should have seen the seating arrangement! it was hilarious, three of the four guys were near the back of the boat and the fourth was nearer the front. You can guess what happened... the bow went straight up in the air! Meanwhile they are trying to head upstream, and that 12 horse is working like 20 clydesdales! but that doesn't do the job, they start going down stream slowly. they are still pointed upstream... still... finally the pilot thinks he's going downstream... He turns the boat downstream to a river bar further down. They all land the boat and get into a huddle to consult. Finally after a while they come up with a game plan. 2 of them get in the boat and head up river, they make it to the bar higher up... 3 trips later they are all on the higher river bar fishing together.

Sorry for that little rabit trail... Anyway, this is a theme chess set that looks great in a den or living room. It really brings a sporty flavor to a room.
Don't get me wrong about Lund though. They have some good boats to. Their older models are a bit rickety though. I'm an Alumaweld guy personally though.

Hunter Theme Chess Set

"Wow!", that what I thought when I first spotted these American theme chess sets. The entire American theme chess set series are the most detailed, life-like series of theme chess sets I have seen yet! They are simply stunning.

The hunter theme chess set is whitetail deer hunters VS elk hunters, the pawns for white, are white tail deer, the white king is dressed in hunter orange with black fading spots on his coat and pants. All the white kings compadre's are dressed in hunter orange with fading spots as well, but each are equipped with their own hunting gear, all are ready for action. The rooks are little log cabins, the log cabins have little chimneys that poke out over the roof, these chimneys are so real looking, I can almost imagine smoke coming out of them. Yeah, you can see individual little bricks in the chimneys, that is how well made this theme chess set is made.
Here is something that really stands out about this theme chess set. Both sides, both black and white, each have different styles to them, the black rooks, pawns, kings, bishops, knights, queens, all look different than the opposing side. No it's not just that they are different colors, they actually have different styles!
The black pawns are all elk, the pawns in this theme chess set are truly amazing. The black king and his cohorts are all dressed in bright hunter orange jackets and hats, with black pants. Each unit carries the essential equipment that every hunter needs, binoculars, backpacks, no doubt loaded with camping supplies, the rooks are little green tents, they look an aweful lot like old army surplus tents.
Getting to the end of the description I just realized what a kick this chess set really is! The white side with the whitetail deer on it, the hunters are actually hunting the elk, and vice versa! And while I was writing that, I realize that they shoot each other to! better not let one of those pawns put your king in check! Thats just not right, deer putting hunters in check!
Anyway, cool chess set.

Theme Chess Set

"So what is a theme chess set?" an easy question to answer, a Theme Chess Set is a chess set with a theme, no really, Theme chess sets can have anything for a theme, lets say the Civil War. The Civil War theme chess set is the most popular theme chess set in the world. The reasons why are obvious.
For many Americans the Civil War is the main historic event in their lives, that war is still waging in many hearts today, well maybe not that way for most, but most have a feeling about it that can't be easily expressed in an article, at least not by me. I guess it's just something that is part of us. So that is why the Civil War Theme chess set is so popular. There are several different designs of just the Civil War theme chess set, for instance, there are some theme chess sets that have General Lee & General Grant for kings, and others with President Abe Lincoln & President Jefferson Davis (the Confederate President). Playing a game of chess with a Civil War theme chess set for some means more than just a chess game, it's Gettysburg all over again! So whether you are Pro-Union, or Pro-Confederate. You are bound to enjoy a Civil War theme chess set. A Civil War theme chess set makes a great gift to, if you have a history buff family member or friend, this is a great gift choice for him or her!

The Simpsons Chess Set

Some crackpot decided to make a theme chess set using The Simpsons TV show characters, personally I think The Simpsons TV show is rather stupid, brainless, and even worse, pointless... As far as I know the Simpsons chess set is the only way to watch The Simpsons without getting more retarded. In fact this chess set is so dumb it makes you look twice, probably one of the reasons it sells so well, playing chess with The Simpsons Chess Set gives a whole new meaning to "a casual game of chess". So here you have it, The Simpsons chess set, in full blooded battle array, Homer and Marge ready to back you up from hell to breakfast! Well Homer will at least to breakfast! The so called "king" is Homer Simpson, he stands 3 1/4 inch's tall in his regal robes, with his perpetual white tee shirt and blue jeans while holding his scepter and beer can... this is a very unusual chess set in more than one sense... The queen is taller than the king! The queen is of course Marge Simpson, she needs a haircut... The rook is Lisa Simpson, the bishop is Brat Simpson, (oops I meant Bart). The knight is Herschel Krustofski (how he got knighted i'll never know). and last is the pawn Maggie Simpson, actually shes hugging onto the side of a pawn with her usual baby bink in her mouth. thats all I have to write about The Simpsons chess set, enjoy.

Themed Battle Chess Sets

A Themed Battle Chess Set is the perfect way to decorate your sitting or living room, while at same time adding a touch of entertainment. Battle chess sets are great conversation pieces for collectors; there is a wide variety of themed battle chess sets available, ranging from the cats and dogs chess set to the lord of the rings battle chess set.

The most famous of all themed battle chess sets is the Civil War Battle Chess Set, the characters kings on the union side usually being Abe Lincon, with either general Grant or Mary Todd Lincon his wife at his side acting as the queen, and for the Confederates the king is usually either Robert Lee the famous rebel general or Jefferson Davis the rebel President. The pawns usually represent the loyal soldiers of the Union and Confederacy, fiercely loyal to their convictions and leaders. The rest of the pieces in the themed Civil War battle chess set are quite varied, and the designers are given the opportunity to be creative.

Owning a Historical Battle Chess Set is like owning a piece of the past, the historical battle chess set section is my favorite category, there is a large variety of these historical battle chess sets ranging from The Battle Of Alamo to the Crusades.

Animal Battle Chess Sets are very popular as well, the range from the famous cats and dogs battle chess set endangered species battle chess set. These animal battle chess sets are perfect to decorate an outdoorsy type of sitting room, or even a farmhouse sitting room (there is a barnyard battle chess set). My personal favorite is the Dinosaur Themed Battle Chess Set, these titans stand face to face looking at each other so intensely they seem to be begging you to play a game of chess, the kings are the great T Rex leading their pre-historic brothers into battle. I don't know maybe I like this battle chess set best because I have always liked dinosaurs. The animal battle chess set figures are so life like that it is amazing, looking at them it almost seems like they are eyeing the opposing team, sizing them up, waiting for the game to begin.

Themed Battle Chess Sets are great gift items as well, they are often used not only for the game itself, but often times people buy battle chess sets to dress up a room that has a particular style to it so they buy a themed battle chess set to match the room, that's not to say you cant play a friendly game of chess on a themed battle chess set though, the symbolic characters make just that much more fun.

Sillver Chess Set: Silver Biblical Chess Set

This Biblical Silver Chess Set is a collector's item in every sense, the silver is coated over a synthetic mould, the gold colored squares are actually gilded silver giving the silver chess set the appearance of gold. This silver chess set is made like a game box, the silver chess pieces are places inside of the box. each piece has its own individual little slot for safe storage. around the outside of the game box is a thick silver ornamentation depicting the holy city Jerusalem. The figures are very life like and very, very symbolic, Moses is the ruling king of the silver chess set with his set of commandments, the queen symbolizes Miriam the sister of Moses, she stands with her lyre ready to sing her victory song proclaiming the end of the game, the rooks are very finely crafted showing each individual crack for every brick, they are patented after the castles that played an important role in the later history of Israel, the knights are camels, the banditos of the chess board, the bishop symbolizes the spies that went to spy out the land of Canaan carrying a large cluster of grapes, personally I think the bishop should have been Aaron the first high priest the brother of Moses, and the pawns are modeled after the famous Maccabi soldiers, always zealous and ready for battle, with fierce, intense loyalty. This Biblical silver chess set holds great historical meaning and symbols, Moses with the commandments, Miriam with her lyre, the spies with their grape cluster, and the camels the transported the children of Israel. it is a work of art, a complete masterpiece.

There are very few silver chess sets available at this time, each one of these silver chess sets are handmade by a fellow in Israel, there are a few types available aside from the silver biblical chess set: View All Silver Chess Sets
