These new super Paladin Heavy Plastic Chess Pieces are definitly the best buy for heavy, detailed plastic chess pieces. They certainly make the best blitz chess set I have seen yet. The extra large bases on the paladin heavy plastic chess set make them the most stable chess set I have used yet. The heavy lead inserts are set in the chess pieces in such a way that all the weight sits closer to the board. So what happens is gravity makes the plastic chess piece want to stand on its base all the time.

In blitz chess this is a big bonus! The pieces are usually moving so fast in blitz chess that you don't want to have to worry about knocking the chess pieces over. And your chances of knocking the paladin heavy plastic chess set are greatly reduced compared to most chess sets. The paladin heavy plastic chess set is definitly my first choice for buying a cheap blitz chess set. also I don't have to worry about nicking my wood pieces playing blitz chess with my paladin heavy chess set.

Then there is the detail, the designers of the paladin heavy plastic chess set wanted to make a good blitz chess set, but also they wanted to make a chess set that was good looking at the same time. So this is what they came up with, the set comes with 4 queens and some super stylish looking chess pieces. In fact they look somewhat like the older Drueke plastic chess set.

In a nutshell I would say these Paladin heavy chess pieces are a great buy, great design, and great features.
