32 Piece set has been accurately hand modeled and cast in resin then beautifully hand painted. The paper velour bases are the only thing unimpressive about this set as they have a tendency to come off. That aside, the pieces quality ranks up there with many higher priced theme sets we've seen.

Magnificent Chess Set

Lion Chess Set

The pieces on the chess set are very nice. I already had a slightly different chess set with the pawns being cheetahs instead of monkeys. I wound up mixing and matching this set with the missing pieces from my original set which I actually liked more; it worked.
I am waiting for the water buffalo pieces to come in but in the meantime the giraffes will be a good substitute. If you never saw the original set, you will be "over the moon" with this one. I don't regret having the 2 sets.
