This item is great. Very easy to see and use and stays in place. It's like a large mouse pad material. That being said, one issue we've already noticed is that it stains fairly easily. So, I wouldn't recommend eating around it -- especially with greasy foods. Maybe this is common sense, but I didn't think about it until my 9 year old had lunch while playing a game with it.

Grandson's Birthday Gift

Originally I really was only wanting the chess pieces .... ( as a fused glass artist I planned to make the board myself ) but kiln operator ended up in hospital needing surgery ... so I was happy the board was included ... however the blue men on a green/white board was not so easy on the eye ... so I ordered green men and am delighted how quickly they arrived and how similar the lighter green pieces are to the original heavier ones. Price reasonable, follow up excellent.
