The pieces most suited with this board are 3.5" to 4.25" tall. The base size should be no more than 1.75".

Very well made and perfectly priced. My 4” King and Queen fit perfectly on the 2” squares. It goes well with my set and all my pieces fit well in the storage compartment. Very satisfied.
Ordered this as a birthday gift for my dad. He loves it. The wood looks and feels like great quality, and the removable grid inside the board is convenient especially for taking the pieces out. I don’t see anything wrong with this board. Good buy and reasonable price!
I read that the slots were for pieces 3.5 to 4.25". My pieces are all 3" to 3.5" .
Further along the description says that actually 16 slots fit 2.5" pieces and 16 slots fit upto 4.75" pieces. So my pawns are all to tall for their individual spaces. Fortunately the bottom rails can be removed, so my pawns are all "doubled up" and I fit 2 per slot. It is very nice otherwise.
