Beautiful, Robust Chess Pieces

The French Lardy Wood Chess Pieces are very beautiful, traditional, and robust in design. The pieces I received match what's seen in the photograph quite nicely. Although the description notes that these pieces come with leather bases, mine came with green felt bases, which is fine with me.

I like the French Lardy design since photographs of these chess pieces were sometimes used in books and encyclopedias I read when learning chess. It's nice to now own a set of those pictured pieces.
