The set is awesome and very nice! Most of the piece's pegs stay in their hole except a few. Thinking of just ordering replacements for those so they don't lose their spot on a road trip! The wood is beautiful and the interior is classic. Love the set and will have it for life. Thanks you guys!

Do NOT buy this. Box came misaligned, peg holes were some how too small or too big, the kings and queens look almost identical, Pieces had splinters hanging off, the pieces were all just dipped in varnish and didn't get in any of nooks and crannies and just an uneven coating, most of the peg holes aren't even close to the center of the squares, and closing the lid doesn't even hold the pieces in place. Save your money.

The minute I received this package in the mail I knew I had made a mistake in purchasing it. I could hear the pieces rattling around in the case . Isn't the whole point of a travel pegboard chess set to be able to leave a game on the board ,close the lid to hold the pieces in place and be able to resume the game later?! The pieces fall out of place because the lid does not contact them to keep them in place. Additionally the pieces are very poorly designed ,one cannot tell the bishops from the kings and the queens. Also the pieces are too "fat" at the top and are so crowded that one can barely grasp the pieces to move them
However I have decided to keep the thing because the case itself is attractive. I will purchase a set with plastic pieces that fit and use those pieces instead and pill cut a piece of foam or something for the inside of the lid to keep the pieces in place .

This is the first time that I was disappointed with a product from Chess House. Quality was poor

It’s a lovely travel chess set and the pegged pieces stay in their position even if the set is turned upside down, provided the box is secured by the clasp. The only slight downside is that the pegs are quite tight and it is important you persevere in trying to lift them up straight, and not wiggle the piece to try and free it. If you do that you will loosen, or even break, the peg, which is not all that robust.
