When I opened the box, turned it on, and began thumbing through the manual, I must admit I was a bit worried...it was looking pretty complicated.
However, within 5 minutes I had it all figured out. The best thing is definently the twelve user presets. Take a minute, configure them all, and you're probably set for good. Want to play your custom preset 6? Press the "on" button six times. Pretty simple. Check out the demo video on this site if you're having trouble.
The display is super-clear and the clock appears very well made. As far as styling goes, I think it would match a circa 1980's Apple IIc pretty well; good or bad, you be the judge. All in all, I think it's great.

Biggest myth surrounding this clock is that it is difficult to set up/operate. If you can't spend a couple hours learning all of its functions then you don't deserve to own it in the first place. Black color perfected it's already sleek look.

if you play in tournaments regularly, this is the clock to have. Why?
this clock has 12 user settings! no other clock on the market has that many- so you can set up times for weekend tourneys, blitz play, and times with delay- your choice. the manual is difficult to understand at first-however, go to the metrowest chess site and see how easy it is to set up the clock.
i currently own a novo digital( all wood), a schach timer(easiest clock to set up- but no delay except for bronstein and 1 user setting), and a 20 minute blitz (analog)- since purchasing the chronos, this is the only clock i use!
if u only play casual chess(against people who never bang the clock or slam buttons) then buy any clock-however, if you only want to purchase one clock for all time, BUY THE CHRONOS!
the chronos is truly the BMW of clocks-the 'ultimate timing machine'.
