Is the complete set weight really just 5oz?

Jeremiah, yes, the pieces weigh about 5 oz. This is an unweighted small set, the king is only 3". That weight does not include the weight of the board, the weight of the entire set with the board is about 1.5 pounds. This chess pieces is designed for quality and enjoyable play.
