is rosewood lighter than boxwood or vice versa ....how heavy is the ebonized boxwood?

Louise, when it comes to boxwood, that will be the lighter looking pieces, out of any two colors of just about every wood set of pieces. Almost all wooden chess pieces are made of Boxwood for the lighter side and a darker wood for the dark side whether it be Rosewood, Ebony, Golden Rosewood or others.
A full set of pieces from this combo, regardless of the wood type will be about 4 pounds.
