Question: What is the response time for moves? I have used electronic chess sets that required upwards of 5 minutes to?
Answer: The DGT Centaur is very quick in comparison. Most response times are less than 20 seconds and we've generally not seen it take more than a minute for any deep calculated response.
Question: Is it possible to attach the conductive bottoms to other chess sets of our choosing?
Answer: Chris, this is the answer that I was able to figure out, the bottoms appear to be sealed in, but any conductive metal on the bottom of the pieces should register. At this point we wont be selling anything separately and I believe that any messing about will void the warranty. This travel chess is designed for quality and enjoyable play.
Question: What engine does dgt centaur use and what is highest Elo that you can set it at.
Answer: Robert, the Centaur is built on the Stockfish Engine and will play from 300 to 3000 ELO according to DGT. On Friendly mode, the computer will allow you some chances to win. In Challenge mode it will play stronger than your level. In the highest level it will play at maximum strength and will be tough to beat! It does give a scoring of your progress. This chess board is designed for quality and enjoyable play.
