I live alone and there is no one that plays chess, including my neighbors.
This would be great for me. What does the 2 year warranty cover? After the 2 year warranty if the board is not functioning what would be my options?
I use to play chess with friends and my children but they're don't live near me. Would this be the best electronic board, or the Millennium? I haven't played for a few years.

Lydia, the 2 year warranty covers everything and after 2 years we will still try to help with any issues we can.
Both this unit and Millennium are stand alone, no need for anything extra. The Millennium products are a bit smaller if that is an issue. This one also doesn't really have levels, as you play it recognizes your playing level and the computer adjusts for that. This chess board is designed for quality and enjoyable play.

Question: I am rating 850 or so on chess.com, and while not a beginner, I am just not that good at chess.
Answer: User experience will vary with this. Based on our customer support for the Centaur, is only a minority of players who experience this issue and contact us.
It may be that some players have a well defined opening setup that makes the computer think they are higher rated than they are. When they start to make weaker moves in the middle and endgame, the computer likely adjusts down, but might have a good advantage positionally at that point making it harder to beat even with the computer playing weaker moves.
Some customers have found it helpful to reset the Centaur and though no one has reported back on whether this works, it might even help to play a few games making terrible moves at the start. This chess board is designed for quality and enjoyable play.

Answer: Hi Don, we had another customer test and report the battery life to be about 14 hours of play before a recharge is needed.

Answer: Joseph, thanks for checking in! Unfortunately the Centaur doesn't have that ability but it is very adaptive and adapts very quickly to your playing level.
