Can you use any chess pieces with the Square off board?
Or are the supplied pieces specifically made for the board?

The pieces have magnets in the bottom of them allowing the board to move the pieces. Theoretically you could swap out for another magnetic set. But you might have other complications, like whether the unit would be able to move heavier weighted pieces or whether larger pieces would actually knock into others as they were moved around the board. This chess pieces is designed for quality and enjoyable play.
