You can find the manual in the product description which may help to answer your questions. There are opening libraries that you can select that have openings from which the computer selects. If you deviate ouside the openings moves and main variants, the computer will switch to its analysis based move calculation.
You can start from a set up position and moves can be taken back to a previous position. This electronic chess computer is designed for quality and enjoyable play.
