i recently purchased this magnetic chess set for me and my kids to play in the car on a long car trip. the magnet strength is perfect for securing pieces to the board, while still being very easy to move around. everything feels high quality, and the travel case makes throwing it in a bag/backpack/suitcase a no brainer. i look forward to continuing to make memories with my family and this chess set.
The reviews for this chessboard were all positive, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. Never fear, this chessboard is everything I hoped it would be. I love the wooden pieces, magnetism and the blonde color for white, as well as the attractive chess board. This is really a nice set and love the padded case it comes in as well. I'm very happy with this purchase.
8" Magnetic Travel Chess Set in Black and Boxwood
I am quite happy with this fine little travel set. I use it on one side of my chess table for variation analysis. It's a perfect fit, even enough room for my coffee. The pieces' proportions are very good, the board is ideal and the magnetic strength is just right. Too many magnetic sets are too strong, so the pieces grab each other when you try to move them. These are just strong enough to hold their place. It's a bit costly compared to the abundant cheap plastics portables, but well worth the cost.
My grandsons loved these sets!
