About The Vertical Chessboard - Hangton Style - Wall Mounted
This wall mounted Hangton style chessboard blends a modern look with classic pieces, making for a subtle and soft yet eye catching display that is fabulous and functional.
Careful thought and planning went into the details of this board and set. The pieces are easy and comfortable to grab thanks to a groove in the piece base, which also adds to the unique looks of each piece. The rounded sections create a softer look compared to the typical square corners found on a traditional chessboard.
A flexible insert marks the last move.
The idea and inspiration for this wall mounted chess board came from week-long chess games our CEO, Raphael, used to have with his father. They would play on a regular board which they placed on a small table in the entrance hall of their house and they would take their turn as they passed by the board.
However, when the family adopted a dog, the dog seemed very interested in the game too – and every now and then he would steal some figures or knock the board off the table. So they figured out a way to modify the chessboard and pieces, so that it would be out of reach of the dog.
