11" Birchwood Magnetic Chess Set

Generally, I ignore such requests; I am old enough to find the constant request for feedback upon purchase on just about everything one buys irritating. However, since you are so persistent, and on this occasion I do have some thing to comment upon, I shall respond.
About the chess sets themselves (I bought 2) I am very happy. They are well-designed and attractive. But the shopping experience was less so. Actually, it is myself that I blame most, for I simply did not realise until the purchase was done that you are American, and that this had unfortunate consequences, in terms of the time it would take for the sets to arrive, the shipping cost, the import tax.... The pricing was in UK pounds, and this may have added to my misconception. I have noted that there is now a clear warning about import duties on your website, but I was not aware that any such warning occurred at the time. Anyway, caveat emptor.

The result was that your chess sets worked out as very expensive indeed. Paying for a quality product is one thing; paying over the odds to shipping agents, governments etc less acceptable.
So I do have to say I am unlikely to use your services again. I am looking out for a portable set, the sort that has pieces on pegs, that can be slipped into a pocket, but I suspect that it would turn out to be rather expensive.

Thank you for the chess sets; they are attractive, and my friend and I enjoy using them. You clearly create quality products, and care about them. But ultimately, I feel I allowed myself to be misinformed.

Magnets are weak compared to other sets. Magnets are not strong, piece slide off the board with the slightest tilt.

I like the chess board, alpha numeric markings and the magnetic chess pieces. I really didn't know what to expect (hoping for the best) as everything seemed reputable and am very satisfied with my purchase. Big enough to easily play your game and small enough to pack for travel. Bottom line, I like it.

I really like this board. I can easily carry it around in a backpack along with everything else I need. However, the pad on several pieces stick out from underneath and are plainly visible which is a bit distracting.

Chess board is excellent, high quality, chess pieces however present and feel cheap
