About The Metal Moncada Style Chess Men

Being a full sized set weighing in over 10 lbs, this medieval themed metal set commands attention!  

Moncada may be associated with the commander of Imperial forces in Italy (Hugo of Moncada) who was sent as an ambassador from the Emperor to Pope Clement VII in the Vatican in 1526. 

It could also be a reference to "Palazzo Moncada - Galleria Civica D'Arte", which houses some amazing marble sculptures and busts. And just as the marble sculpture found there, these Italian made metal bust figures are richly detailed, showing the artistic talent and care used in their making.  

These impressive pieces are well suited for an equally impressive board of Alabaster, Marble or Wood with a square size from 1.5" up to 2".
