This set was on back order and true to their promise I received an email when it was back in stock. Great customer service! The set itself is very well made, the "cuts" in the bishops, rooks and particularly the knights are all very precise. The finish on the pieces and the board is very high quality. I am VERY please with this purchase and can highly recommend both Chess House and this particular chess set.

Excellent, Versatile, Elegant chess set that is also a travel kit. Very happy with it. This set gets the most use. Black gloss annoying in most interior lighting hindering detail of black pieces. Solved by spray painting with ultra flat black paint. Elegance remains without the glare.

Don't buy this if you don't want to risk the top sticker bubbling off or the metal sheet completely disconnecting from the board. I've complained already, had a replacement board sent, WHICH ALSO FAILED. I'd give this chessboard ZERO STARS if possible.

I bought this travel board for my son. He is becoming quite the chess player. He brought it with him when visiting me, and he said it is perfect. He loves the wood. He said it is convenient to unzip the travel bag and on one side are the chess pieces in each of its respective holder and on the other side is the board. The board lays completely flat. I’m so happy I bought this for him.

Board and pieces look of excellent quality. The magnet may be "weak" as another reviewer posted but I think it allows for easy play without fighting the piece to move from the square it is on. I did a tilt test, and all the pieces stayed in their appropriate square after bein rotated beyond perpendicular from the table surface. case is great with the protective felt for the board and the cutouts for all the pieces.
