14" Travel Size Flex Pad Chess Set

Play chess on this compact, club style flex mat - all stored in a pouch small enough to live in a backpack.

The flex pad board is the reason this works. It lays flatter than comparable roll-up boards, and it can be both rolled and folded, so it adapts to whatever bag you're carrying. This ultra-slim board material flexes fast for easy storage, and the smooth surface plays well with felt-based pieces.

At 14" square with 1 1/2" squares, the board is scaled to the 2 1/2" analysis-size pieces included here, which carry the same familiar club silhouette at a smaller stature. 

The Chess House Drawstring Bag holds the whole set, rolled board and all 32 pieces together in one, so nothing rides separately and nothing gets left behind on the picnic table. Margaret hand-sewed white drawstring bags for her sons in the 1990s, and those are the inspiration for the design we produce today.

Take it to the campground, the coffee shop, the hotel room, or the back seat, and start playing.

Every board is printed edge to edge with the artwork showing through the light squares, so the image stays readable while the grid stays crisp for play. Choose from USA 250 designs (Forge and Soar), solid club colors, or our National Parks series, beginning with Yosemite and Grand Canyon.
