This set is one of the better inexpensive wood sets that I have seen in the past years. I like the finish on these pieces. They have a patina which gives them an attractive "lived with " look. They are single weighted, I believe, which makes them suitable for speed chess. I am very happy with this purchase!

would have liked a little more weight in each piece. The checker pieces don't stack together very well for kingers

Top of Blk Queen has no stain on it. Wh King has piece broken off at base of cross. Any thing to be done about this??

I ordered a chess/checkers set for my grandson....and one of the pieces was missing. I was very disappointed and contacted the Chess House to ask for the piece. Since it was the week before Christmas, many sets were sold out. But Paul worked with me diligently to replace all the chess men, and I now consider myself a very satisfied customer. The chess set is wonderful!
