Safely store your wood chess pieces inside this sapele box, designed primarily for wooden chessmen with a king height of 3.75" to 4.25" tall. Even with extra queens, the box will be a good fit for the entire set.

Excellent quality

The quality of the box construction was impressive for the price. Wood was solid, no cracks or lose joints. Hinges and clasp all good. Lining was of good quality. Black finish is a nice matte finish but not flat black. So much junk out there on Amazon etc. it’s hard to find what’s good and what’s not. This is a nice box, in fact I bought a second in walnut for a different set.

Decent box for storage

This box does not fit all of my Dubrovnik pieces but it's understandable because the bases are extremely wide. However the height of the box is not a problem and it seems to be fairly sturdy, a quality box to hold your Chess pieces at a reasonable price.
