Nice and flat.

Good Value for Money

Chess boards at that price generally are cardboard, and they are smaller. This one folds and rolls up well, without creasing, It has large squares and easy to see graphics. Many of the chess masters with YouTube channels appear to use the same board.

Lies flat!

I have a club set that goes on vacation with us and is used for family games. It came with a vinyl roll up board which works, but always had a curl to it. This board is the same dimensions as my old one but lays right down flat. It also takes up less room when rolled and can be folded, so it takes up less space than the old board. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

for a floppy tournament board, silicon is better than the usual vinyl

This silicon board actually lays perfectly flat, immediately, every time. I also have a vinyl tournament board and I've been disapointed with the vinyl's propensity to curl. Regardless of what someone might say, a vinyl board curls. It doesn't lay perfectly flat. Over time, if you flatten a vinyl board out with weights, it will lay flat, until you roll it up again. This silicon board feels like a floppy stretchy rubber sheet when it isn't on a table surface. It can be folded, but probably could also rip fairly easily. It smells a bit like oil, but I hope that will fade over time. It has only been out of the package for a few days. It works well with felt bottom tournament pieces.

Very good!

Beautifully made! Light, rigid and easily fold. I think this will last long.
