This chess set appears to be a black and silver set. All the pictures appear to be of an almost black pieces but the Product Details describe the set as being bronze and pewter, something I didn't see until I received the very bronze and silver set and went back to check. I tried to contact Chesshouse 4 times to resolve the misrepresentation of this item and got no response. The quality is very good but be aware the images don't match the description and don't expect any customer service.
The pieces are stunning. Only downside is that the Brass ones are definitely a dark brown color like brass normally seems. Wish they were more black like in the images.
The box is sturdy, has a nice weight and is smooth. I wish I had a bit more of any interesting design.
But regardless the set is by far one of the best ones I have seen and I will cherish it for a long time.
pieces are awesome looking and what i expected, but the box looks cheap and seems like paint will chip and come off soon, but the worst part is that pawns dont even properly fit into the box... i wish i could return the box and keep the pieces. Can that be arranged? or get another board?
